I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

There’s a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from trying to make your evolution legible to people who weren’t ready for it. You find yourself over-explaining. Softening the edges of your decisions. Framing your growth in ways that won’t make anyone uncomfortable — as if your expansion is something that requires an apology.

It doesn’t.

The people who are meant to be in this next chapter of your life won’t need a disclaimer. They’ll meet the new version of you and feel like they were always supposed to. The ones who can only love the version of you that needed them — that’s information too.

You are not obligated to stay small so that your growth doesn’t read as abandonment.

You are not obligated to explain a transformation that is still happening.

You are allowed to become. Quietly. Fully. Without a press release.

Note to self — and maybe to you too: the right people don’t need you to justify who you’re becoming. They just need you to keep going.

With love,
